Hjemmekino, Norway

The first issue (titled EYEFI) went on the market in June 2002. The editorial content was from the beginning mostly about stereo, home cinema and video, and aimed at the general market. The magazine has grown to become the only dedicated home cinema magazine in Norway. It has taken a different direction from other magazines and carved out a large niche amongst enthusiasts and experts.
Hjemmekino offers tests and reviews of all kinds of equipment for stereo, home cinema and video (mostly projectors and flat screens), product news, features (mostly about home cinema and hi-fi set-ups in readers’ homes) plus interviews with important people within the business, such as engineers, founders, designers and experts. It aims to be a monthly source of inspiration and offer an excuse for devoting even more time to watching movies and listening to music!
Its readers are aged from 18 to 45 years and spend a lot of time reading about equipment. They spend more than the average amount of money on the products they buy. Its readers are searching for better sound and picture quality for their money.
“Being a part of EISA is very important in terms of contact with the industry. And all the professionalism and knowledge that all the editors bring into EISA means better magazines for their readers. The added focus from the industry is also very important in getting products earlier than other magazines. I don’t think I could have established the magazine so quickly without the support from the industry and my very good friends in EISA.”
